Bathing, Fluttering and Licking

Are you one of the many who love seeing these beautiful little creatures flit around with their wings seeming to go 50 miles an hour?
Actually their wings beat aproximately 50-200 flaps per second, depending on the direction their going, their surroundings and purpose of their flight.

These brightly colored and mesmerizing birds can actually fly 30 miles an hour.

I really enjoy putting up Hummingbird feeders but this year I decided to learn a lot more about them.
I'm only going to highlight a few things today.

1. I had no idea Hummingbirds don't drink the water in the bird bath. Rather they bathe in it, cleaning their feathers. They get their hydration from the hummingbird nectar and nectar from flowers.
https://amzn.to/3f0RXyI

So I'm getting this bird bath above with a fountain.
Hummingbirds are really tiny and won't go in a regular bird bath unless it has rocks they can sit on while they bathe or a fountain. The sound of the fountain also attracts them and especially if you have it near flowers that are colorful.

I'm an affiliate for Amazon and that's where I found the above 3-Tiered Pedestal Water Bird Bath with Fish Design Floor Fountain if your interested in this one or looking at others perhaps.
It's $39.99 if you have Amazon Prime too and shipping is fairly quick.

You can purchase at the link below and/or look around at others as well.
 https://amzn.to/2zFslXZ

Bleeding Heart Red

Flowers such as Bleeding Heart and Bee Balm really trip their trigger. And they enjoy the nectar from these types of flowers.
You can find them at your local greenhouse or order them on Amazon:

Bee Balm, Lavender
https://amzn.to/2W4nmri

2. A second thing I learned is Hummingbirds don't drink from the hummingbird feeder. Instead they lick the nectar with their fringed and forked tongues.
Capillary action along the fringe of their tongue helps draw nectar up into their throats so they can swallow.
A hummingbird can lick 10 to 15 times per second while feeding. To me this is kind of amazing and I had no idea.
Hummingbirds digest natural sucrose—the sugar found in floral nectar—in 20 minutes with 97 percent efficiency for converting the sugar into energy.

Hummingbirds need lots of nectar for all the energy they expand flapping those wings and flying.

3. The third bit of information I learned is that in spite of a Hummingbirds little size they are one of the more aggressive birds.
They will regularly attack blue jays, crows, and hawks that infringe on their territory. You may often find you have one dominant Hummingbird that guards all the feeders, chasing intruders away.

Very amazing for such beautiful little birds.
I'll be paying attention to how this plays out here.

One more little tidbit I stumbled upon is:

Normally Hummingbirds are not native to UK but I did find that two rare Amazilia hummingbirds from Ecuador were an addition to the London Zoo around Easter of 2008 - and the only members of their species on show in Britain. I'm not finding the birds anywhere on their page so perhaps these delicate birds didn't survive captivity. Or they didn't survive the fire that closed the zoo in 2017, only opening again in 2019. Then the Corona Virus. It does seem like a fun place to go though once this virus passes.

If your aware of any Hummingbirds in UK, England or the like, I'd really like to hear about it.

Well, I am wrapping up on Hummingbirds for today. I may share more at another time because these birds are definitely of interest to me. Perhaps I'll be quick enough to get some pictures of them. lol
Do share your thoughts in the comments on these delightful birds if you have some where your located and if you have Hummingbird Feeders for them.

I hope you enjoy the remainder of the day.
Until next time.

A Good Afternoon to Relax

Good afternoon.
I hope your Thursday is going very well.

I haven't posted for several days due to internet dropping out a lot. Thankful it seems to be resolved now. Yeah

The dogs and I have been outside some before it got too hot. I have most of my hay for the hay garden moved to a different location.

Doesn't she look innocent lol
Since I have a dog who thinks she's a garden tiller lol
and was digging up the area I originally chose, it was time to plan something different.

I'm getting ready to get some relaxing time in before I play with the kitty and put my starter plants in bigger pots.
I lost a few plants putting them out too early so now I'm waiting until any threat of cold weather is gone.

Thanks for following along with today's rambles.
Have a wonderful afternoon.

Oh It's Saturday

I hope your Saturday is a good one.
I hope your finding lots of reasons to enjoy your day.

It's a windy out here but a nice day out.
I have been taking breaks and going outside and enjoying the fresh air.

Rusty April 2020

Rusty isn't seeming to be quite himself the last few days. He seems scared or uncomfortable to go out by himself and so I've had to go out with him. It gives me a good reason to go out and get some more fresh air but do hope he's more peaceful soon.

Taking Care of You in Stay at Home Mode

All of us are in 'Stay at Home Mode'.

Let's face it a lot of you are probably in survival mode more times than you like to admit! No judgement here, I know your all doing your best as i am.

Oh by the way I didn't make the following video just for women. You men need to take care of 'you' too! It's not the slightest bit wimpy to make sure your the best whether a πŸ•Ίman or a πŸ‘©woman!

Let's face it if we don't take care of ourselves who will!
Have a watch and let's get on this!
Below the video I'll expound a bit more so don't miss the 'more'!
P.S. Be sure to watch the video on Youtube, like the video and subscribe. Part 2 will be coming soon!
Here's a recap of what I've shared in the video.

Taking care of ourselves especially in 'Stay at Home Mode' due to this virus is good practice for when this virus has finally left us alone!

1. We need to start taking care of ourselves from the inside out.

2. The best way and what I do is drink 2-3 glasses daily of Forever Aloe drinks-plain, Peaches, or Berry.

I personally don't think I have to be tough and gulp down the plain stuff. It's not my fav! But if you don't care then so be it.

3. Forever Aloe drinks are:

-90.7 % pure inner aloe leaf gel

-Rich in Vitamin C

-An Ideal digestive aid

-Aloe is great for your Skin
 -Supports the Immune System

We're all doing a lot of right things.

We're staying in, washing our hands, santizing ourselves and everything else.

As a family we eat together, try to stay entertained, some of us work from home, we take care of the kids, some of us homeschool, and much more.

But are you taking care of you!
I encourage you to do your best for you and one thing I forgot to mention--be sure to get enough sleep. I work late a lot of times and my dogs like to wake me up early. So if they do so, I usually get a nap in to take care of myself.

I have much to share on care of you but let's focus right now on doing so from the inside out.
Your innards will thank you and will reflect outward and in all you do.

Here's your link for Forever Aloe Drinks:

Stay tuned for the next video and share I have coming up.

E-book That Isn't Laughed at Now

This image above is from an e-book that I created  June of last year.

I did a Weekly Share of some of what was in the e-book before it was ready.

I assure you this was my first e-book, it wasn't polished or perfect but I decided to go forth and get better in time. The e-book is now going through revision and hope will be done sometime soon. Still won't be perfect or polish but better.

In doing the Weekly Share
I discovered several things, some shocking and some discouraging.
And I'm also grateful for those who definitely knew what I was talking about!

1. Some had no idea what I was talking about

2. Some laughed because they were prepared enough for any disaster or emergency. After all they could go to the store and plop whatever they bought in the microwave and chow down.

3.People's responses showed me they lived in a microwave mentality. By microwave mentality I mean a complacency about the grocery store shelves would always be well stocked, the power would always be on, etc. and they could go on about life with no worries because nothing was going to change.

I'm really not making fun of anyone or judging anyone. Many people really just don't have any idea
1. to be grateful for what we have and

2. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see in the news that bad things happen in the world around us. Things such as tornados, hurricanes, bomb threats, flooding and the like.

3. To plan ahead a little ahead should these things or similar befall us.

Now.... the image at the top of this post looks like a lot of our grocery store shelves today. It's not funny, no one is laughing and people are stressing and/or hoarding whatever they can.

When I created the e-book, I knew disasters and emergencies can happen because I've lived through them and stood in line to get things like a simple bottle of water. So I shared from my experience and passion to educate others and perhaps a wake up call

My passion hasn't wavered, rather it's grown to educate others to go forth and be prepared even if in the midst of a virus as we're in now.

I have decided to go ahead and share the video below that I originally created to introduce 'Gone Before You Get There' but I removed the audio since needs updated as I update the e-book.
Also since I'm updating the e-book to include the times we live in now, I'm offering it for free.

The last screen of the video says the e-book is $19.99.  Ignore that! Since I'm updating the e-book it's yours for free!
Granted it does not include the current situation we are dealing with in regard to the virus directly but at the same time I believe you can put to use some of the information and resources.
To my knowledge all the links to resources are current and should work with no problem.

Below is your link to download. Again don't worry you will not be charged. But this will get you plugged into where I host the pdf of the e-book.
Go ahead and Click the 'Add to Cart' button below to get your pdf!

Thanks so much for reading and thanks in advance if you decide to get the pdf of the E-book!
Please feel free to share with those you know who may find this helpful as well.

Please feel free to comment below and I'd definitely appreciate hearing if 'Gone Before You Get There' is helpful!

My 30 Day Transformation

I signed up for the 30 Day Blog Challenge ingeniously created by Sarah and Kevin Arrow.

When I signed up for the challenge I was ready to make changes and be here sharing consistently with all the stuff just screaming to get out of me and to you all.

I learned more than I'd imagined I would, yet I've embraced learning each step of the way.

I'm listening and learning what you'd like to hear about

I can't deny I was challenged to do things I have never done before!Yet I'm excited because I'm learning how to make Home at Hearth the best for all of you!

I started the 30 Day Blogging Challenge when Covid-19 had made it entrance.

But I've had my times of discouragement like everyone else. When you were quiet I started to question myself. Am I really making a difference encourage others!

I was greatly encouraged by all those I consider collaborators doing the 30 Day Blogging Challenge
along with Sarah and Kevin Arrow, the dynamic creators of this challenge!

It's hard to pick just one person who encouraged me because everyone sharing gave me strength and different kinds of tools I could employ to take courage as well as sharing great content with all of you.

There are two people that really helped me on this journey.
The first being, Dale Darley, Who writes a Series,
https://daledarley.com/101-days-me/
Dale has inspired me to journal each day and to turn my lockdown journal into a book. I'm not sure if I'll do a book to publish but I get so excited to discover so much I can share with all my readers regardless.
And as I journal I find strength and release that would otherwise not happen.

The second person out of so many that gave me hope in the midst of adversary is Vaishakhi Bharucha
.
I started out reading when,Vaishakhi was sharing 'Lego Serious Play'. Then the virus hit and took over in the way of a lockdown in India and Vaishakhi almost gave up sharing. But she didn't. She went on to share various perspectives from different countries, shared hope, and even began 'Beads of Hope', a group where people seek to stay positive and encouraging.

Vaishakhi has continued to share hope and so much more. I'd definitely stop over and soak up what she's sharing at https://www.abacusyellow.com/

The 30 Day Blogging Challenge has been amazing for me. I strongly suggest you consider joining the Challenge, be transformed and transform your business.
Sarah and Kevin Arrow who have created this unique challenge, offer so many tools, a content road map, ideas and more. And I am bold enough to assert as you connect with others doing the challenge, you will be spurred on like never before to grow!
In a world of so much hype you have nothing to lose if you'll commit to do your best!

A Little Bovine For What Ails Ya

Happy Friday everyone!
What are your plans to have a good weekend?
I have a service for a loved one to say goodbye this evening. Then....I'm continuing to hang out with the fur babies, write in my lock down journal inspired by Dale Darley, "How to Turn Your Lockdown Journal into a Book", plant some more seeds and watch a few movies for starters.

I'd just touched on using Bovine Colostrum in my group at Thrive Not Survive but want to take it further.
The reason being, one of my dogs, Rusty developed severe allergies on his tummy and under his legs.

I started using Apoquel, a medicine for allergies that is fast acting. That is until I discovered it can cause tumors and other issues. I decided to investigate because my dog, Rusty started having little things resembling pimples on his head and chest. I got really concerned.

I found this article on Apoquel on the Dog Naturally Magazine and was shocked. It can cause tumors and more.

Bovine Colostrum Powder  Mixed in Broth

I started looking for alternatives and more information.

I discovered Bovine Colostrum, a first food for calves that has amazing benefits for the immune system and more.

I learned about Bovine Colostrum, it's benefits, and about Sovereign's Bovine Colostrum product at the  links below.
 https://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/colostrum-benefits-for-dogs/
https://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/bovine-colostrum/
https://lovetoydogs.com/bovine-colostrum-benefits-for-dogs/

Not only did I discover this would help Rusty with his allergies it would help his brother, Dusty who has an immune problem called Lupus in dogs that can cause their nose to crack and be really crusty among other symptoms. He also has arthritis and I see a noticeable improvement.
I have a 3rd dog, Marie whose been diagnosed with Anaplasmosis, a tick born disease and 3 normal cats lol
I've started all my animals on the Bovine Colostrum now for better all around health for them. I mix Bovine Colostrum in broth and add it to their food twice a day.

It is important to get the Bovine Colostrum that is truly from grass fed cows without hormones or antibiotics.

I originally did go to the farm store in my area because I wanted to get the dogs started asap! But then found Bovine Colostrum made by Sovereign Laboratories. It's awesome but if had to you could buy or order to be delivered from your local farm store temporarily and to get your animal(s) started.

Gratitude in Midst of Grief

Good morning and the best Tuesday to you!
Yesterday was a long day and it felt like I went in circles a lot dealing with sadness and trying to find my way through things.
My daughter said goodbye to her dad last night as well as my grandchildren said goodbye to their grandpa and his sister said goodbye to her beloved brother.

The sadness and heartbreak is still with me yet I must look at what I can be grateful for in my life!

I told my grand daughter last night I am grateful we have each other and we can stand together to get through this.

In some cases divorce doesn't always mean we stop caring, are disconnected or without feeling when bad things happen to the person we were married to.
I'm so thankful he's at peace now and no more suffering!

Many are going through all kinds of grief and anger being on lock down or limited in what they can do because of Covid-19.
Some have even lost loved ones due to the virus and are going through a lot of pain and even anger right now.

I'm doing all I can to find the new normal and am stretched to grow like never before. The death of someone in our family adds a new twist but I can do anything with God on my side!

I'm cooking healthy meals, taking good care of my animals, planting seeds to put out when the darn weather stops being so weird, doing laundry, keeping the house clean without being obsessive, taking naps, sleeping decent hours and now going to get back to writing here, and sharing my preparedness skills more consistently.

So seriously, tell me how your doing with your 'new normal' in the comments below. I look forward to hearing how your coping and what your doing.
Thanks for reading.

Sadness and Grief

Good Morning
Monday brings sadness to our family's households.
I'm sorry I don't have such positive news today.
No, it' not the virus!
A family member who has struggled for many years with drug addiction to the point of being on oxygen.
Even so he continues to self-medicate.
After several attempts to reach him by phone, my daughter found him yesterday with his oxygen unplugged and he'd turned off pic line therefore missing several pic lines for his medicine to treat an infection.
She got him up and called an ambulance.
Before he was taken to the hospital he handed her pills. Upon investigating we discovered the pills have lots of negative effects.
At the hospital they discovered his kidneys were shutting down among other things.
He's now on life support.
And the dr won't let us in to see him.
We'd all sure appreciate prayers for him.
It looks like by taking the pills and unplugging his oxygen he was attempting to take his life. But we don't know.
I value your prayers as we go forth and strength to go through the grief if we lose him.
Thanks
-Cindy-

Running Late on April Fool's Day

Well, well, it's April 1st and April Fool's Day!
And I'm running later than I had planned today.

 I'm not fooling either lol
I promise I won't be a trickster here today or at least not right now lol

Have you played any April Fool's Day tricks on anyone? If you have I'd love to have you share them in the comments below 🀣

I've been doing my best to share on a regular basis in spite of the Covid 19 changes and all it's brought.
Yet, I still find myself running behind a lot. Mostly due to spending more time being thoughtful and sharing with those on facebook to encourage them to keep on keeping on in this time of uncertainty and unknown.

I'm also working behind the scenes to make some changes here on site as well as on the facebook page and groups. I'm using this time to be creative as well as encouraging.

Today I have an online Birthday Party with  grandson, Jalen this afternoon, finish posting on my groups and pages, then...
I'm going to finish the free recipe book pdf, 'Meals for Everyday and to be Prepared'. I've been sharing a few recipes that will be in it but have not finished the rest of the ebook. It's weighing on me because it's not finished. So today I want to get it down for everyone in order to make it available for download.
So be patient with me as I get this completed and if I seem a bit silent for just a little bit.

I hope you have the best day and have a little fun with April Fool's Day if you decide to.
