Sunday Bright and Colorful:Some Peppermint Love


Good afternoon. 
I hope your having a bright and colorful Sunday. If not I hope I can bring some brightness and joy. 

It's still quite cool outside here but nice to see the sunshine and to have it begin to warm up.
 I'm just now sitting down to get this out to everyone.

I decided along with my  Weekend sharing of businesses I wanted to share a recipe for delightful Peppermint Brownies with Peppermint Essential Oil. Even though I'm working on the E-book, 'Recipes for Everyday and/or To Be Prepared' I'm not rushing and being thoughtful to make it helpful, easy to use no matter what situation happens around us and as simple as possible.

So I thought, "Shoot, why not share some of the recipes that will be included and provide a pdf to download them as well. 
So that's what I've done and you can learn all about it below.

Here’s a tasty dessert for all you chocolate/peppermint lovers.
The nice thing is you can use what is in your pantry.
I don’t know about you but I have lots of black beans to use
and this recipe rocks with them!
And if you have Peppermint Essential Oil on hand—Perfecto!

If you’d like to make the creamy frosting and chocolate layer on top, Here’s how:
Warm to room temp a bit of butter or margarine.
½ cup to be exact. When it’s room temp whip it up by hand or with a mixer. Add 2 cups of powdered sugar and 2 -3 drops of peppermint essential oil and mix well. Slowly add up to 4 Tablespoons of Almond milk, regular milk or whatever you use in place of milk. If you’d like your frosting to be green add a few drops of food color if on hand until color you desire. Mix to a creamy consistency.
When your brownies are cool spread evenly across the top.

To make your chocolate layer to put on top of your creamy frosting do the following:
Melt 1 cup chocolate chips and 6 Tablespoons of butter or margarine in microwave or double boiler. Stir until completely melted and creamy. Pour over your creamy frosting and chow down.
 *Black beans have a very mild flavor and are extremely rich, creamy, and full of protein

In the event Peppermint Essential Oil isn’t available I’ve shared some substitutes below:
Substitute For Peppermint Extract
If you don't have peppermint extract and need a substitute

    Peppermint oil - Use the oil at a ratio of 1 to 4 (1 part oil is equivalent of 4 parts extract).  Peppermint oil is stronger so you need far less that with the extract.
    OR - Use 1 ounce peppermint schnapps per 3-4 drops extract
    OR - Use equal amounts of an alternate extract such as spearmint
    OR - Use 1/2 cup creme de menthe per 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract (adjust liquid in the recipe).

Equivalents
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract will flavor 2 cups frosting.
