Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats

 Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats

Today I made these so simple Peanut Butter Dog Treats that the dogs love.

I normally just make them in balls and flatten with a fork but my daughter gave me a dog bone cookie cutter so I thought I'd put it to use.
1. I use 2 cups of wheat flour or you can subsitute any flour of your choice. Just make sure it's safe for your dog(s).
I'm not a big worrier of wheat in my dogs food or treats but if you are definitely use what your comfortable with.

2. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder to the flour and mix well.

3. In a separate bowl I mix 1 cup hot water or skim milk, 1 egg and 1/3 to 1/2 cup peanut butter.
4. I stir the flour mixture into this. If it's too dry you can add a bit more hot water or skim milk and if too wet add a bit more flour.
5. Pat or roll out the mixture on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch.
6. Roll into balls and flatten with a fork dipped in flour or cut with the cookie cutter shape of your choice.
7. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees until lightly browned and then cool.

As you get used to making these you can add lots of other cool ingredients your pooch will love. Do share if you make these and even include a picture if you'd like!
