How Do You Grow Your Garden?

by , in

It's that time of year for getting ready to plant here.
Where I live has been doused with pesticides for a long time.
Some of it, maybe most of it can stay in the soil up to 20 years. Not what I want in my veggies!

I do as much container gardening inside as possible but also have a greenhouse where my plants are in a more protected enviroment.

How do you grow your garden? Do you have a small or large garden outdoors  and/or do container gardening?

This year I am doing small watermelon in containers. I'm anxious to see how these grow. I love watermelon.

What kinds of veggies do you like to grow?

I found this great selection of seeds to start in the green house and a few in containers.
I wanted to share and maybe it will be a good start for you.

Good Morning: Great News

by , in

Good Morning.
Hope your day is off to a great start.
It's a rainy one here but a great morning.
Dogs were a little soggy after going out earlier lol

I have great news! I'm joining Inspired by Aloe, Bees and Botanicals with Home at Hearth.

I've been taking a good look at my businesses and believe
this will be a good move.
Many of you are already fans, friends and customers and this will simplify things for you to have everything in one place.
Of course I have much work to do yet but everything is going great as I make progress.

About the rooster and bottle of Aloe drink at the top of the post.  If your like me and many others who want to be healthier and drink Aloe, plain aloe can be wanting as far as flavor. Of course some can gulp it down and not bat an eye but not I. LOL

My most favoritest is Aloe Bits N Peaches. I love peaches and Forever Aloe Bits N Peaches has bits of aloe chunks bathed in the flavor of sun-ripened peaches.
Yummy!
Great taste to enjoy with its 100% stabilized aloe vera gel and just a touch of natural peach flavor and peach concentrate.
Did you know for many centuries, people all around the world have used aloe vera for its health benefits. The addition of peaches provides carotenoids – valuable as antioxidants and a source of vitamin A. They are also essential for maintaining the proper function of the immune system.
Forever Aloe Bits N’ Peaches offers many healthful ingredients – all packed into a great-tasting drink. Pour over ice or mix with fruit juice, and enjoy the delightful taste of nature’s bounty any time of the day!
  • All The benefits of Forever Aloe Vera Gel plus peaches
  • Solid chunks of pure aloe vera
  • Refreshing, fruity taste – just like pure peach juice
  • Ideal for children-Yup, even the kids like it and it's good for them.

Recommended daily dosage: 8 fl. oz.

The FDA in the US requires me to tell you that in sharing Forever Aloe Bits N Peaches it is not intended to diagnose, mitigate, treat, cure or prevent a specific disease or class of diseases. But if you have a testimony I'd love to have you share it.

If your ready to get your Aloe Bits n Peaches you may order below and if your not happy with it, you have 60 days to request a refund from me.

It's a Aloe Blossom and Lavender Tuesday

by , in

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday!

I'm a major coffee lover but tea is a favorite too.

Today I'm having some 'Forever Aloe Blossom Herbal Tea', my favorite of all teas.
Aloe Blossom Herbal Tea is a natural blend of leaves, herbs and spices, specially prepared to provide an outstanding flavor and a rich aroma. And yes it is caffeine-free for those who prefer no caffeine!

Aloe Blossom Herbal Tea is made with refreshing cinnamon, orange peel and cloves impart a warm, fruity flavor, along with allspice and ginger to soothe. Combined with aloe blossoms from Forever's own plantations.

Today I'm making Lavender and Rose Soaps so I decided to
infuse some lavender in my tea. It adds a nice touch.
I added some dry lavender and let it steep 10 minutes, strained it and Yum!
A word of caution-Never use Lavender essential oil unless it's specifically for internal use. Otherwise it is toxic!

If you'd like to get your hands on some Aloe Blossom Herbal Tea you can order below. 25 bags to enjoy until your heart and body are content.
If you enjoy lavender and would like some for your tea, I've got you covered too. Order below!

Ale Isn't Only for the Irish

by , in

Honey Ale Soap isn't just for the Irish and leprechauns but of course if you Irish that's ok too.
If your a leprechaun you will have to let me know what you think lol

I was inspired by St Patrick's day to create this Honey Ale soap. I wasn't able to do it in time for St Patty's day but
no reason you can't enjoy it now.

Honey Ale Soap is made with Honey, Glycerin, Coconut, Natural Liquid Castile Soap, Honey Ale Fragrance and coloring.
I've made some in a darker green and some in brownish orange. You choose the color that suits you.

I created the top with a white glycerin to add a bit of frosting look.

If you have purchased soaps that promised to make your skin moisturized and were left wanting and feeling ripped off, then your more than ready to try Honey Ale Glycerin soap. Your skin will be treated to moisture and you will enjoy a light honey and ale scent. Not too much scent but just enough
to delight your senses.Order yours belong and Enjoy!

It is a Magnificent Monday: Choose to Eat Better

by , in

Good Morning! It's going to be a Magnificient Monday!

Over the weekend I discovered 'Ditching the Drive-Thru' by
J. Natalie Winch.

If your fed up with processed foods, GMO's and the harmful effects to you and your family, J. Natalie Winch
will help you navigate through the murky waters.

Let's face it, many of you are exhausted at the end of the
day, whether you work from home or out of the home.
Do you hit the drive-thru or grab a fast making pre-made meal at the store? Then...you feel guilty because you didn't
feed yourself and your family healthful food.

Ditch the guilt and the Drive-Thru,
I strongly suggested getting your hands on
J. Natalie Winch book, 'Ditching the Drive-Thru'.
She will show you how to:
* How to create your own thirty-month plan to convert your family from junk food to real food, without a revolt!
* Recipes and advice on planning and prepping meals so you can make home-cooked a habit for your family
* Instructions for getting the most out of produce using techniques such as lacto-fermentation, dehydrating, and canning
* An introduction to the world of farm-direct sales, including tips on locating local farms, seeing through marketing buzzwords, and shopping with CSAs

Ditching the Drive-Thru exposes the insidious hold the commercial food industry has taken over the fast-paced lives of the average American and the danger these processed foods and diet plans pose to our health, environment, and emotional well-being. Learn how to break free from the grind and return to a simpler relationship with food from farmers, not factories, and home-cooked meals that are created in your kitchen, not on a conveyor belt.

Izzy's Born to Be A Star

by , in

Neal Zundell (Izzy's father) writes a daily Caring Bridge article from Sunday to Fr'iday, advocating for his 6-year old angel who was born with a rare genetic neurological disorder, Leukodystrophy, which was officially diagnosed around his 3rd birthday. Although his life expectancy is 8-9 years, Neal continues to consider all plausible medical treatments and interventions capable of improving Izzy’s severely limited quality of life, and to attempt to provide him a life that is primarily pain-free for as long as this progressive, degenerative and irreversible disease will enable this. Additionally, Neal shares his personal and poignant perspective of living with an angelic-mortal, and how the blessing of Izzy has profoundly affected all aspects of his life, due to the benevolence of the almighty God!

OCTOBER 2013: I'm 3 years old and I don't walk or talk, but if I did I would tell you all my story. My birth seemed normal. The nurses said I had a good cry and good grip. I did fail my initial newborn hearing test, but in fairness to me I was just born and really had no time to study for it. Besides, the doctors and nurses told Mommy and Daddy that there are lots of false positives. I began to develop normally. turning over at 3-4 months and crawling at 7-8. When I was 9 months old my pediatrician said not to worry about my hearing as I was responding to his voice. If I was able to clearly hear that I would have said otherwise. By the time I was a year old I was trashing/rearranging pots/pan and my favorite draws - the cutlery drawers!!! I wasn't walking at 18 months but my lazy 9 year old brother walked at 18 months and my lazier 7 year old sister at 19 months. By 20 months mommy and daddy got nervous and took me to an audiologist. We found out I was born with a moderate hearing loss and was fitted for hearing aids. Although I ordered ones that pick up ESPN, they didn't pick up cable TV. I was still not walking at 21 months so they took me to a pediatric neurologist. The man, who looked older than Father Time, said he saw nothing neurologically wrong with me. But I got into Early Intervention and got Speech, Occupational, Physical and every other type of therapy to strengthen my leg muscles. I would cruise along the house against the wall, or walk holding on, but was unable to walk without assistance, They said I was significantly developmentally delayed. One prevailing theory was my balance and motor skills were off because I wasn't hearing correctly. The progress was slower than anticipated and I still wasn't walking or talking at 2 1/2. Mommy and Daddy got me into a really good Pediatric Neurologist at the University of Chicago Children's Hospital. They took an MRI and all sorts of blood tests, including genetic testing. They were fairly certain that I had some genetic syndrome but which one was anybody’s guess. Daddy and others were leaning towards autism, and shortly after my 3rd birthday on August-28-2013 these tests were performed. On an autumn Friday the Neurologist called with the most devastating news - It was a disorder called Leukodystrophy. I won't sugar coat this - it's a non-reversible, not fixable degenerative genetic disease ... in simple English, it's terminal and fatal. We all have so many questions, but until we know the class of my specific disease, there will still be too many unknowns. After their initial guess proved incorrect, the doctor took more genetic tests which are expected to tell the entire gloomy picture within 4-6 weeks. Mommy and Daddy are coping as best they can. They believe God put me here on this world to unite people together, and that is what I intend to do for as long as I'm on this transient earth. Don't feel bad for me; I'm doing what God intended for me to do, and don't feel bad for my family. As Daddy says, God feels my family is special and worthy to have such a special child as myself in their care. I may not know how to walk and talk, but I most certainly know that I'm loved by my parents, my siblings and so much family and friends. So we will fight the good fight. Please join me in our  annual Passover campaign as an exorbitant amount of financial resources are required to cover my medicine, therapy and other resources (Help Izzy Lick Leukodystrophy). This is my journey, and thank you for being a part of it,

A Sudsy New Season: I Haven't Gone Crazy

by , in

Good Afternoon and a pleasant Wednesday to you.

I'm making many changes to my business, this blog and working on a new website. At times it can seem overwhelming but trying not to have it be so for you.

Unexpectedly getting sick and a couple of surguries,
has actually been a grand opportunity for me
to refine and focus on my passion for creating and
giving you my best.

I'll soon be updating the cover here and on social media sites. Just haven't got there yet.
I don't want you to think I've lost my mind and purposely
leaving things out of wack on everything. lol
I'm very grateful for your patience with me.
After two hospital stays and surgery, a lot of my sales
go toward paying the bills. I do appreciate your
support when you make a purchase.

I'm kicking things off with my soap creations.
I have to tell you my grand daughter, Shaylee is
a tremendous help and inspiration.

These minty, chocolatey soaps are a treat in themselves.
Scented with Moroccan Mint and Dark Rich Chocolate
these soaps are delicious but only for your skin. If you like Chocolate Mint Girl Scout Cookies these will have your longing for them. But don't try to eat them lol
The delightful soaps are made with coconutglycerin and lightly scented to ultra moisturize your skin.
If you have purchased store bought soaps that promised
to make your skin feel moisturized and are left
wanting, it's time to leave those days behind.
If you like a richer scent no worries I have
some coming soon.

I'm including video of Shaylee helping me make these soaps near the bottom of the post if you'd like to have a look.

Monday Afternoon Muffin Time

by , in

Good Afternoon. It's Monday and I've decided Monday afternoon is a very good time for some yummy muffins.

Awhile ago I bought some muffins that looked good and I thought were healthy. NOT!
I left for Kansas for 3 days and came back to the muffins left and looking like I just bought them.
Do you know why? It's because of the perservatives in them
that aren't so healthy.
You might wonder what's the big deal. Well where I live we have plenty of humidity. Food like muffins and breads if not stored in frig mold quickly. And mine didn't mold
or change at all. Yuck!
So I'm back to knowing what is in my muffins and enjoying them to the max!

I know I shared this awhile ago but these muffins are sooo good I decided the recipe is well worth sharing again.

I know I say this a lot but it's true, eating healthy food doesn't have to be boring!
I'll say it again,  it doesn't have to be boring!
It can be quite delicious and delightful!
Here's the ingredients for 3 dozen muffins
The Forever products-Aloe Berry Nectar or Bits n Peaches, Forever Honey and Forever Aloe Blossom Tea. The recipe is below and the preparation instructions. As well as where you can order each of them.

Even the kids like them and that's a miracle. lol
I've made a separate batch without the nuts and used frozen strawberries or raspberries for them. No complaints.
Let me know if you make the muffins and what you think.
